Nepalese Association of Financial Journalists (NAFIJ) is only umbrella association of the Nepalese journalists working on the socio-economic and financial beat.

NAFIJ is formed by the group of professional young working journalists practicing journalism perpetually in the socio-economic beat in print, electronic and the new media; online.

NAFIJ is registered according to the institution registration act 1977 (2034 B.S) at District Office, Kathmandu in 2009 September.

With a vision to gear up the process of socio-economic transformation, team of NAFIJ is actively facilitating through journalism.

According to the statute - 2009,  NAFIJ has its certain objectives to promote financial journalism and welfare of the financial journalists.

The major objectives of the association are as follows.

  • Protection, conservation and promotion of press freedom and rights of all working journalists on financial beat in Nepalese media, uniting and providing leadership on behalf of their welfare. Mange different programmes for professional and career skill empowerment of financial journalists in Nepal.
  • Promotion of economic, financial and development journalism facilitating the process of socioeconomic transformation to lift up of life standard of people
  • Assist to build sovereign economy through rural development along with environment friendly, employment oriented and scientific industrialization
  • Assist through economic journalism for protection, conservation and development of national capital
  • Manage constructive activities such as meeting, seminar, interaction, training, public debate on various topics related with economy
  • Operate the mass media according to the contemporary law and produce news and information based materials on financial issues
  • Coordinate among the policy makers, experts, public and private sectors, cooperatives, consumers and other stakeholders for the overall economic development
  • Counsel and advice the stakeholders through reports from researches and studies on economical issues
  • Provide other services related with economy and media
  • Conserve and promote the special priorities and rights of the least developed emerging economies from the global organizations such as UN and others
  • Utilization of E-commerce on behalf of the developing and least developed nations and to assist balancing the role of international society to alter imbalance  phenomenon and practices
  • Exchange of assistance and coordination with national and international governmental and non-governmental organizations
